Choosing Your Set of Bar Stools

Setting up a bar can be fun, and the bar stools are no exception. You have so many choices and so many considerations to make. The first thing you will need to think about is the colour! You could choose from any colour, but you should of course make sure the bar stool you select matches your bar, or at least in some way matches your bar.

You could go with pink stools if you so desire, but this will only fit a specific environment. In order for them to work, you should have a somewhat girly environment. You could also get away with a 50's environment if the setting is red, white, or pink. In most white environments however, people will choose to go with black rather than pink. There are occasions in which pink bar stools are a good idea, and you will need to identify these occasions as they come up.

Red stools are a great choice simply because they will fit in with almost any environment. There are many different shades of red, one of them being maroon. As you are choosing your stool, it would be a good idea to make sure that it fits in with not only the surroundings, but also the lighting that you have chosen.

If you are running any black lights, you might find that they create some strange effects in combination with your bar stools. This can be a cool effect at times, but if your patrons have been drinking for some time, they probably will not appreciate the effect at all. For this reason you should test several different types of fabrics and colours against a black light. This is not always a necessity however. What many people do not realize is that bar stools do not necessarily denote a drinking establishment. Eateries may also feature a bar; it just depends on where you happen to be.

Make sure your stools are weighted! Whether you have red bar stools or pink bar stools, keeping them weighted is very important. The problem with light stools is that they tend to slide around when the floor gets wet, and this is also true if you are using multi-legged stools. Naturally stools with a single, round bases will be more susceptible to this scientific force, and many people will compensate by having rubber pads or suction cups installed on the bottom of the bar stool. In most cases the bar stool already come outfitted with these, so there is no need to worry.

Don't make this decision too quickly. Buying barstools is a delicate process that will require quite a bit of thought, especially if you plan to choose bar stools that will go along well with your existing décor. There are types of stools that have backs if you so desire, but most people choose to avoid these because when you have a back, it is difficult to store the stool under the counter. In addition to that it can make a room seem more crowded than it actually is.

If you choose a swivelling stool you will need to determine exactly how far it is going to swivel. You could go for 180 degrees, or you could opt to have it spin for the full 360. This isn't always an easy decision, though giving the full 360 can sometimes be a bit bothersome. It is not unheard of for a swivel stool to become loose and send someone spinning. Is it likely? No, but that doesn't mean it won't happen. When you are running a bar you need to prepare for the unexpected and take pre-emptive action.

So there you have it. You may not have though that bar stools were such an undertaking, but they are. So choose the right stools, whether they are red, pink, white, or purple, and create the right effect.
